A box for construction is a very cheap plastic box. Problem could be that box is really small, while potentiometers need a lot of space. That's why it's imposible to use standard Jack plugs and put battery and legs signal switcher. All project should be make only with SMD elements, i changed conception that concern PCB project for "normal" elements becouse it was imposible to assemble it with SMD elements - I would need microscope, and super solder and a lot of patience.. Bard would have 2x2cm and for sure i would put there all elements that I mention.
System in electronic meaning is quite simple, all elements are easy to buy. Difference from original project is CONTUR parametr that can be adjust from bottom of case. Instead of it, outside we have potentiometer DIST, that can set effect of run cut. Of course you can put more regulations into the case. To witch between signals I used this project

Switching is make by pressing case, bottom plate have incline about 1mm. Device is powered by 9V power supply adaptor ( more could destroy switcher), you can use Zener diode in feeder case. Toll work very good with two siliceous diodes 1N914 and two germanes diodes GA507
