how to block sms messages

Hi,

Could anybody point me in the right direction to find out if it is possible to perform a hardware modification to a Nokia 1208 cellphone so that it is incapable of sending or receiving text messages, but that all other functionality would remain.

Any suggestions welcome or even if its possible on other low end cell phones if Nokia is a problem.
