Much Dc-DC chip is suitable for you,but it depended on you practical need.
like:
NA:LM2575,
ST:L4961,
and very cheap chip:MC34063(PFM,NOPWM)

You also use UC3842 to design a current mode buck Dc-DC

Maybe this URL is helpful to you:
**broken link removed**

--much dc-dc buck application

many information about dc-dc u can find in Unitrode/TI seminars

Hi

you can use the SG3525 or SG3526 for as swithing regulator. the exact topology
depends on the voltage and current you need.
