phy loopback

Dear All

I need to build a Passive Network TAP, something like
passive_fig_2.gif

But rather than just fully passive, I want it also "amplified" just like what repeater do.

I know that I need to do it for two side, but let me think one at a step.

Please take a look at that Orange-pair, that go from Host-to-host but splitted at the center to go to TAP-A.

What if I inject that split to PHY, loop the PHY and send the output to magnetic and then to TAP-A (I call it TAP_A>B, since it'll only tap traffic that goes from Host A to B)

Kindly please see my attachment.
Will it do the work ?

Sincerely
