inductor

Hi All,
If I had two inductor of same size with same material of wires, with one having iron core and other having air core, what difference does it make. If used in filter is there change in cut-off freq or is there any change in reactance of inductor

Thanks in advance

Re: Inductor difference

yes, there will be a difference in inductance, with the cored one having higher inductance.

Re: Inductor difference

Thanks for reply.
Is there any mathmatical equation which determines the amount of change in inductance if known the permiability of the material.
