sdf spef simulation

Hi,

Can anyone answer to following question.

Post layout STA(with SPEF) passes but the simulation fails on the same logic path.

What might be the reason?

Regards,

for simulation, are n't you suppose to use SDF file instead of SPEF . I am assuming you are doing back annotation.

Re: STA(with SPEF) passes but the simulation fails on the sa

yes ur supposed to extract the SDF not the SPEF for STA for Back-annotation. Kindly check and import SDF and see.

Re: STA(with SPEF) passes but the simulation fails on the sa

Hi Kapil/Tariq,

Thanks for your prompt reply.

This was the question asked in the interview for that I did not know the answer.

Let me rephrase the question again.

STA is closed but when doing back annotation with SDF seeing setup/hold violations, so what might be the reason?

Regards,

Re: STA(with SPEF) passes but the simulation fails on the sa

change the constant propagation setting in PT and see if it passes.

Re: STA(with SPEF) passes but the simulation fails on the sa

Hi Metaja,

How changing constant propagation in PT will pass in back annotation?

Please will you explain clearly.

Regards.

Re: STA(with SPEF) passes but the simulation fails on the sa

We have seen some issue related to test modes. For the test modes sequential case propagation should be set to never instead of setting to always.
