PCB Impact Hammer for Vibration Test

impact hammer test

I have a PCB impact hammer (similar to the one shown in Figure 1) for vibration test. It's bought 15 years ago. I find out no signal from the impact hammer. As I never have any experience using such device before, I'm not sure if the device still functions or not. Could someone pls advise how to confirm if the impact hammer is still in good condition?
