hertzian dipole

I need help with some matlab code. I have a five hertzian z-directed dipole which is aligned along the z-axis with their centers spaced a distance d apart. I need to plot of a normalized E-field pattern as a function of theta for a distance of lambda/2.
I am confused on how to approach this. the e-field equation is as follows:

e=i*omega*mu0*I*change of l*(exp(-i*k*r)/4*pi*r)summation of exp(i*k*d*cos(theta))*sin(theta) in the theta direction.

Please could someone help!!
