storing the data in AT24C256

HI friends
I am using 24C256 for my project
this EEPROM is connected with PIC16F877A through I2C
I can write the data in EEPROM it displaying in LCD but once i written cant modify the in same adress
following connection i have
pin 1,2,4,7 of EEPROM is connected with Gnd
SCL,SDa of EEPROM to PIC SCL and SDA pin and
EEPROM pin8 to VCC 5v
can any one halp me
I have to modify the data in EEPROM
 

check pin 7 (WC). its the write control pin. perhaps it needs to be connected to vcc in order to edit the data you want.
