field around the coil??

Hi

i want to calculate electric and magnetic field around a coil mathematically..direct formula is there to calculate B. any formula r derivation to calculate electric field around coil??PLZ reply asap..

Thanks

Re: field around the coil??

It is not very clear whether you want the same for DC current or AC current. you can check the book principles of Induction logging by Kaufman. probably this book answers your question.

field around the coil??

Generally the magnetic filed around a coild can be calculated by integrating the contribution of individual current elements according to Biot-Savarts law. There are also free tools as QuickField Student Version that allow finite element analysis of simple coil geometries.

field around the coil??

Hello,
It's obvious that you mean time-varying fields, otherwise electric field wont be addressed in case of coils or loops.
I'd see the matter as sort of an antenna then, and apply the wave theory rather than the basics of electromagnetics.
The current distrubtion depends on the shape and size of your intented coil.

Re: field around the coil??

You can find some formulas on collin's book "Foundations for Microwave Engineering". look for sheath Helix
