suggest an amplifier/comparator

Please suggest a mos circuit to amplify 5mV peak spike like input to square pulses(full swing). The width of a spike is around 1nsec.
A sample input is shown in the file attached.[/img]

Must be possible.. All it requires is a high speed comparator or amplifier.
Any idea.?
 

looks like you want to amplify some kind of radiation detector pulses. if it is correct then please use a Charge Sensitive Amplifier.


also keep in mind the thermal noise issues, cool the circuit.

Did you notice the pink area at the top of the plot? It's not any radiation sensor output. The signal is from a combinational circuit.
 

Since the signal looks synchronous, maybe you can use a clocked comparator? 1ns might be enough time for a fast comparator to do it's thang...
