Christmas mini lights

My granddaughter has a small 120 volt Christmas tree with 5 minilights on it. As these minilights are wired it should have lights that are rated at 24 volts. All we can find are rated at 12 volts( for a 10 lights strand) and the burn real bright for about 60 seconds and burn out. How can I change this circuit to make the 12 volt lights work? Thanks

Christmas mini lights

Connect a 1N4004 diode in series with the lights then five 12V bulbs in series can be used.

why not put two 12V lights in series. that will give the 24V.

Though i dont know your circuit diagram so can't really help.

On the face of it, to put a 12 V DC light where you have 24 V DC, you need a buck converter.
