mosfet high current

HI

Any one can guid me on how to design a mosfet high voltage AC swtich - or AC mosfet soild state relay

The switch should handle 250V@20A

Any ideas, application note, ref design are wellcom.

Thanks

Bobi

high voltage thyristor ac switch

Looks like you try same as this..

apparently two mosfets have to be used because of the dreaded body diode......

what about using IGBT ?

...or do they have some dreaded body thyristor or something like that ?

high voltage high current mosfet

IGBT have a much higher voltage drop than MOSFET and aren't suited for a solid state switch, I think. In addition to my previous suggestion to use a photovoltaic opto coupler, I think you may need a bistable gate driver circuit to achieve defined on-off behaviour with the rather high load currents (and respective switching losses) in your application.
