Help to start with dsp

I need to select a dsp for an induction machine vector control project. I'm familiar with mcus but new to dsps. I must select from TI for compatibility issues. What do you suggest me for this purpose? I also need a starter kit or something like that to learn and program the dsp. If possible please tell me about the prices. I've searched a bit TI's site but i couldn't reach a certain information about a total package and price.
