auto negotiation problem

Hi all,
We are using 88e1111 PHY chip on Stratix II GX PCIe board. The problem is that we are not able to do auto-negotiation. We made auto-neg bit 1 in a regiter on PHY chip. Even we cant make it. Please suggest what should we do more to auto-negtiate the MAC core using that PHY chip on Stratix II GX PCIe board.
Thanks in Advance...
Muni.

marvell 88e1111

Hi,
The environment is not so clear. The block diagram may assists. I used this Marvell PHY and never see such problem. You'd check all configuration pins, clock, voltages, power to transformer etc.
Also start/restart autonegotiation bit located in register 0. Register 1 services for indication if process complete or not
By the way force link mode is working properly? The traffic is running without losses?
