to92 package

hi
i read something from a transistor site about transistor pin configuration
it says "MOST COMMON LEAD IDENTIFICATION
Pin 1. Emitter, Pin 2 . Base, Pin 3 . Collector
TO-92 :pin 1 is on the left when the flat side is toward you and legs are pointing down. "

then i checked two of the transistors datasheet bc547 and bc bc 337 both npn transistors

http://www.fairchildsemi.com/ds/BC/BC337.pdf
http://www.datasheetcatalog.com/datasheets_pdf/B/C/5/4/BC547.shtml

so the pin one is collector
pin two is base and the pin three is emitter

according to these two datasheet websites
does it mean
the transistor site says something totally wrong?
hmmmmmmmm
Don't all transistor t-90 packages have the same pinouts?
Please clear my confusion
Thanks a lot

There are two common pinouts, but the quoted is none of them, simply erroneous, I think. You should consult the datasheets instead of asking your hairdresser (or similar sources), as suggested.
