What does case temperature mean ?

I don't understantd what the "case temperature" means, it is often used speaking about power amplifier.

I believe this is the temperature on the surface of semiconductor device case. This temperature corresponds to junction temperature, what allows determining the junction temperature by measuring the case temperature and then calculating required value trough known temperature resistance.

ok thank you, I understand that is linked to the junction temperature but lower than die junction.
