hi everyone
i want to know the relation between the coupling cofficient and coupling bandwidth
in a combline or interdigital filter plz help
thank you

Re: couling bandwidth

The maximum coupling occurs at the frequency that gives a quarter-wave coupling length λ/4.
The 3dB bandwidth is approximately 12% from maximum coupling.

Re: couling bandwidth

hi im new here,
hello vfone, any equation to show the relation ship between coupling coefficient and coupling bandwidth
thanx

Re: couling bandwidth

Hi citizen,

I know coupling factor, which is if you need 20 db coupling, your coupling factor will be C = 10^(-20/20) = 0.1

I think it will be your coupling coefficient.

Coupling bandwidth I believe is the 3 dB bandwidth where you can achieve the coupling.

I hope this is correct.

Thanks

Re: couling bandwidth

hi tshah
can you give me the exact info about this ans you have given here becas i dint know about this, and one more thing that here both coupling factor and coupling coefficient both are same know ?

thank you

Re: couling bandwidth

coupling bandwidth is the value that normalized coupling coe multiples bandwidth.
it divide f0 equal to coe.

is the equation will be like this

coupling bandwidth=cou_coeffi*bw;
cou_coeffi=coupling bandwidth/fo;
fo center frq write?[/quote]

Re: couling bandwidth

Basically it is correct.

take a look at the fowllowing form

And you should also look at the papper

Coupling Bandwidth and Reflected Group Delay Characterisation of Microwave Bandpass

can you provide that paper in this forum if you have, i m searching for that.

thank you james cook,

couling bandwidth

This papper already have been uploaded to this forum, just search it.

Re: couling bandwidth

yes
i got that paper and i came to know some
good points what i dont know upto now
thank you
