planar circular spiral inductors

I am simulating circular spiral inductor ,
but why the simulation speed is so slow.
Is the mesh set question or other.... ?
Does anyone have same experience ?

thanks a lot

planar spiralinductor

Hello Myem,

It depends on which EM simulator you are using...
for Planar Spiral Inductors use Planar 3D EM simulator such as Sonnet which has Conformal mesh option which saves time & memory as copared to Triagular or rectangular mesh...

If you are using 3D EM simulators such as HFSS, definitely it will take longer times & also you need to take care in meshing & other options to get accurate results...

How about ADS & IE3D ?

Hello myem,

You can upload your DXF file of spiral Inductor then I can provide you simulation tips...

I have used Agilent ADS...I don't good results, but simulates quickly...I never had a chance to use IE3D, based on their published data looks it can address your problem...!!!
