Hi all,

Currently I am designing down-converter for power line carrier application. One of component in down-converter design is analogue mixer. This analogue mixer would be used to mix (RF) input modulated signal from power line (20KHz - 1MHz) with LO clock signal in order to frequency shift input signal in /selectivity filter bandwidth (12KHz -44KHz)./*
However, Power line carrier applications are dynamic and noisy environment. Input SNR /down-converter/(mixer) can be very low down to -20dB and RF input dynamic range 60dB.

So, I would like to ask you for recommendation of analogue mixer which have or is close to the following characteristics:
- SNRout should be very close to SNRin (Noise Figure in range of 1-5dB). Since RF input signal can be very noisy.(e.g. SNR = -20dB).
- On the output *should be only sum and difference. No RF and LO frequency*
- RF port:* frequency range: 20KHz -1MHz, dynamic range: 50dB-60dB, double balanced
- *LO port: *frequency range:8KHz -1MHz
- *Output*: frequency range: 10KHz -1MHz, *should consists of only sum and difference, no **No RF and LO frequency, no harmonics *

Thank you and Best Regards

Regards to this question, does anybody have any idea how to implement downconverting with above requirements without mixer?. (and programmable filter with huge number of parameters)?

Thanx
