What is STI and why we use dummies to avoid it?

Hi all

Need to be enlightened on STI and the purpose of using dummies to avoid STI. Please help.

STI = Shallow Trench isolation. It is used to isolate between different device.

Purpose of dummy to avoid(minimize) STI stress on the device, as STI will affect the device characteristic (Lod effect) which is not good, especially when you are doing matching like current mirror. I think in most of the advance technology, this has already taken in the model
