Hi, enjoyed the detailed explanation above on brazing. I have a question going in the reverse direction. How do you unsolder or unbraze a silver-soldered joint between stainless steel and brass without destroying optical components housed within?

Re: Remove the soldering

You can try to apply some flux next to the joint and gently heat it up ..
The flux should pull sliver from the joint towards itself ..

There is always an option of cutting the joint with a very thin blade with something like an engraving tool ..

Remove the soldering

or you can reheat it using soldering rod and then pull off the unwanted solder using desoldering pump....

I don't know the answer to your question but I want to make a guess. Are you want information about brazing so you can go my link Induction Brazing thanks
