As we talk of PIC everyday, what's the full name?
Is PIC a HPC (High Pin Count)?

Hi,
' PIC ' stands for Peripheral Interface Controller, the main function for which the original controllers of this family were designed for, by the MIcro Electronics Division of GI, which later on became today's Microchip Technology. PIC is now a registered trade mark of Microchip.

The name PIC initially referred to "Programmable Interface Controller", but shortly thereafter was renamed "Programmable Intelligent Computer"

You are right with PICs made initially by GI.

Once PICs then made by Microchip, it never explains what PIC is, then PIC is just the prefix for device names merely.

hahah, gnjus , yes....something like that : )

Hi Friend,
