I have just begin programming in MP-LAB idev8.00+c18.Since here PIC16 can be programmed only in assembly language ,I have an idea an i just want to know whwether it works or not .........

most PIC family controllers have same assembly instructuion set . so if i programm some PIC 18xxx in c with same logic and then compile teh program using C-18 .after then assembly file so generated can be used for PIC-16xxx controllers(i mean to say asm code that we got from compiling the program in c for PIC -18xxx )
IN nutshell i don't have to write program in assembly directly for PIC-16XXX

waiting for your reply.............. :?:

it is impossible.
1. pic16 and pic18 have different instructions set (pic16 - 12/14bit long, pic18 - 16bit long)
2. pic16 and pic18 are quite different

learn pic16's assembly, because it is as simple as possible.
