How to start in the field of robotics ?

THE NEXT STEP

I have read the book "8051 µc" by mazidi thoroughly .. now, what should be the next step esp if i want to go in the field of robotics ...(should i first purchase a µc kit ?)

i m currently doing BE Electronics(II yr)

Hi there,

The next step would be to surf as many robotic sites as you can. In those sites you will quickly know which µC they are using and what you would need to build your first robot. My personal favourite site is

But there are literally hundreds out there. Just google for "Robotics" and you will have enough material to go by. Oh yes, and don't be as stupid as I was and tried to build the biggest and the best as my first try, it was a waste of time, resources and money.
