hi I want to ask, dc motor can brake???

i make a remote control with AT89c51, L293 and dc motor
can you tell me how to the dc motor stop:cry:

If You look on page 4 of this document you will se how to put inputs to force fast motor stop.

well if ur intension is to brake dc motor and use L293 then use diodes at the terminals of the IC before connecting it to the motor to prevent the ic l293 to burn out. or go for L293d.
