Hello,
In a SDR system down conversion is usually done digitally, possibly with DDC components.
I have a problem of creating wide band (around 50 MHz) filters because of the need for many FIR taps and high data rates.
I have received a suggestion to use a DDC component utilizing two of its channels to process the I and Q portions separately and hence increase my overall tap number but the suggestion claims 25MHz filters on I and Q separately to accommodate a 50 MHz overall.
Does this sound reasonable? how can 25MHz filters on I and Q give 50MHz overall? have i misunderstood somehow? if you guys can try and clarify this for me that would be great.
