Simple HSPICE Question

Dear All

I am new to HSPICE syntax.
I am lost in the difference between .include and .lib in the tedious manual.
Can anyone explain in simpler and clearer way?

Thanks.

Re: Simple HSPICE Question

.include XXX.xyz is a general thing. With this you can include any tipe of file (for example a netlist, or some other code). The inclusion is complitely blind and the inclusion is made exactly on the point you inserted the .include statement.

With .lib YYY.xyz , HSPICE is expecting to see the models for your devices. HSPICE will use only the data from the begining of YYY.xyz file till the ".endl" statement. It will not include the YYY.xyz file in your netlist but it will search for a model in case that your netlist is asking for a model.

Read the manual , thay are explaining this very clearly !

Simple HSPICE Question

Lib can be used to indicate some sections in a file. Include can only be used to include a file.
