Selecting current for biasing the tail current of opamp

hi all!

to bias the tail current of the opamp, bias with which one as below is better

1. Ptat current

2. Constant current

do you mean temp independent bias current?
it will be difficult to get.

(Assuming constant current=temp independent current), It depends on what one is looking for. Lot of times constant gm biasing is used because gm is more critical compared to the actual bias current.

i agree with chacha

sure it will depend on ur application , if u need temp compensation , then sure u will need PTAT , if not u can use constant current or constant GM bias network
