What RTOS is available for PIC18F4620?

Hello,

I need information about which RTOS are aviable for PIC18, and if is possible any page where I can found comparative or opinion about they.
I have heard about freeRTOS, PICOS18, Salvo. Which is the best?

Well, it depends if you are willing to pay for the OS or not. Salvo is good but cost some serious buck whilst freeRTOS is exactly that free.

After you figures out how big a factor the cost is you can do some comparisons further. I can tell you however that I have implemented the freeRTOS on a PIC18F4550 (abandoned project) got a LCD working on it.

Well, I decided to use freeRTOS but Im starting to understand and its very complex. Have anyone got a manual os user guide for the freeRTOS?

Hi heavybm,
The FreeRTos documentation is really comprehensive but in a first look might scare.
If you like in **broken link removed** is a step by step course to use FreeRTOS starting with PIC18, with examples and code.
The only problem is that it is in spanish.

In no longer past, I needed for one lightweight preemptive rtos for pic18f6722. The most cost way that I found was picos18: http://www.picos18.com/

The main advantage for me is that the rtos was made under ideas of OSEK rules (obvious not implemented all in single pic18).
