how to install s@nop@sys , cad@ence tool in LINUX7.3 or 8.0

As title

I have tried many times,
but failed to restart my computer in version 7.2
did I miss any step?
or I should do some setting before ?

Any one can help me as detail as possible?

Please try to explain what did you do in installation step and what/when you have got the error. This would be better for us to help solving your problem. Anyway, a good Cadence installation guide can be found here. **broken link removed**

If in RedHat 7.3 or 8.0 platform,How to install the Sy*n@ps*ys 2002.5
and L*D*V4.0?
I tried it a long time!
but when I began to install SCL or EDA tool,It's always skiping installation.
Who can decribe detailed for it?

Hello there,

I dont know exactely what problems are you encountering during S*y*n*@p*s*y*s instalation. You could try as follows:

unzip the tars into a directory (both common and linux);
edit install.now and comment the lines 51 and 52;
save the modified file;
then run it.

That should work!

Hello there,

edit install.now and comment the lines 51 and 52;

slow response in virtuoso

I don't know why but virtuoso is dog slow. especially as i add components. Any one else experience this? It is making it unusable. I have redhat 7.3 and installed the NCSU design kit. Please help a brother out here.

urm, well, I can't remember: is virtuoso the schematic capture, or is it composer? Well, my previous post is for the schematic capture part of ic5.0 being slow on redhat 7.3. Any help?

Did you comment the lines in the install script as I said before?? Also, do you have the platform dependent package unzipped into your install directory (aka linux package)?????

Well, from my point of view, for a good installation, you should have the following (as an example):
syn_U-2003.06-SP1_common.tar;
syn_U-2003.06-SP1_linux.tar (this one is the package I was talking about).

Unzip them into a directory, edit the install.now script and comment the line as I said above and it should work fine.... :wink:

Please look if the are capital letter in the name of the files/directories. If so, please rename them with small ones... If you unzipped them on fat partition (win95 &co) they could gotten capitalized...
I had no problem installing S@n@pSys on RH 7.3. Now I'm usig RH 8.0 and it works fine.

Now, if you unzip them on a linux partition (ex. /tmp) you follow like this (i guess you already did that):
tar -xvf arch_common.tar
tar -xvf arch_linux.tar
./install.now

Hope it works!

hello,
I am using syn_2002.05 on linux7.0. but it gives me an error when I try to analyze verilog designs:
Verilog option not available.

Even though VHDL designs work. I have removed LSI features from the license file as suggested by some people. but it still doesn't work. Any suggestions.

Ok so try Redhat 7.3 it's good for LDV

Try to use slackware 9.0 it's fine linux release
I use slack with ldv-syno-modelsim

The other method for install
1. tar xvf all.tar
2. cd linux
3. tar xvf file.tar
4. modify all file from file.taz to FILE.TAZ
5. run install_now
6. copy linux/file to <install_dir>
7. run install_now

finish intalling.
