Will DSSS improve the BER performance ?

Or will a system achieve the same BER with less required SNR compared toa system without DSSS?

I think it will not.

DSSS and BER

Hi
It doesnt have any improving in SNR, but it spreads the transmitted power in wide frequency band, so this is acceptable for secure communication.

DSSS and BER

So if somebody say :
from BER requirement the SNR requirement can be calculated
but considering the DSSS conversion gain, the actual minimum SNRmin=SNR-process gain.

It is absolutely wrong!

DSSS and BER

Hi
You are rigth, for BER requirement, the SNR after processing gain is considered.
But for example the BER in BPSK-DSSS after processing is equal to BER in BPSK system with the same SNR.
