Typical PCB stackup for an 8 layer board of 1.6mm

Hi

Can anyone give me a typical pcb stackup for an 8 layer board of 1.6mm? I would like each individual layer thickness e.g. copper, prepeg etc.

Do you have any impedance controlled traces ???

If you do (DDR, Diff pair, SDR, PCIe etc) then you will need to specify the size of prepreg layers to set the distance from your reference plane or ask the PCB company for the best fit for your application and then set your track widths to match the desired impedance.

A PCB company will generally give you what you ask for, stackup is normally defined by the designer.

Remeber the copper weight also has a small influence as well as the dielectric material itself.

If you download AppCad from Agilents web site, it is free, you can see the effects of this.

If you just need the routing layers then just ask your PCB company for whatever the easiest is for them to offer.
