In the sun's workstation,64bit model is faster than 32bit ?

I run a same netlist and use same software at blase1000(900M 4G),one use 64bit and the other one use 32bit model(same operater system sol8)
but I found it's faster at 32bit model. I try two softwar--HSIM2.0 and Magma blaster3.6. Their result are sames.

HSIM:80K Trans
Magma:20K instance(about 200k gate)
 

Yes, 32 bit version is always faster than 64 bit version 10-20%. But the limitation of 32 bit version is its database have to be lesser than 4GB, sometime 2GB
64 bit version is meant to be used for big design which database exceed 4GB
