Re: Element7k

hi,
i am designing an aperture coupled microstrip antenna.
i have designed it to operate it on 2.28 Ghz.
however, now i want it to work a 2.45 Ghz.
can you tell me how by using optimetrics in hfss 11, i can get that frequency.

I haven't got HFSS 11 so can't help with the actual procedure. But in general, you'll have to define variables for length/width on the antenna structure that will affect the frequency properties of that antenna (e.g. the patch dimensions/aperture size/tuning stub length...etc) In optimetrics, you can select the variables to optimize e.g. you can define a goal and optimzation method for use on tuning stub length for example - (e.g. set goal RL < 10 dB @2.45 GHz). Optimetrics will run a search of all the parameters in the specific range to give you the variable that is closest to your goal.
