    respectfully, the 26 milli-ohm res has 474 watts for 135 amps only, each of the diodes has 8 watts for every 10 amps thru - so the losses mount up for non ideal components

    taking the peak in any 25mS period ( pk - pk divided by two ) should give accurate results for the peak current - a small RC filter on the signal before the A/D should get rid of the worst...

    Yes, when the pot is set to the bottom - you will get 44.5Vout, and 4.04V out when the pot is turned to the top - in your schematic ...

    current fed push pull is a good option too at low vin - keeps the current in the devices to low levels - splitting into 2 converters will assist greatly too ...

    too few volts into pin 2 perhaps? it is designed to see 2v5 from the output divider at all times ....

    The aim should be to make it as good as possible at the lower powers, testing other makers products is a good place to learn, below 30W there are, I think different standards for lighting products...
