Closed: Re: ADC input with low pass RC filter

You say ADC and then you mention PWM, which is DAC.
Which are you really trying to do?

It it's PWM DAC, what is the highest modulation frequency of the PWM?

For that I think you will have to go with a faster opto, such as the one in post #5.

If lowering the load resistor value still does not give a fast enough response, you may have to use a faster opto such as a 6N136 (LTspice simulation below).

Below is the LTspice simulation of a circuit that should work for you.
It uses a TLV431 low-power programmable reference (about U$0.60) as a comparator with a built in 1.25V reference voltage.
    The...

    Yes.
Below is a graph from the AL5809 data sheet showing current vs. voltage across it.
It reaches the 100mA limit at a little below 2V.

  7. Closed: Re: Active Precision Current Limiting circuit needed

    Yes, that is true.
  8. Closed: Re: Active Precision Current Limiting circuit needed

    How about the AL5809?
It's inexpensive, requires no extra parts, and can be purchase with a 100mA rating.
The data sheet show in operating down to about 2V across it.

    Below is a discrete circuit...

Tantalum is a type of electrolytic capacitor.
Microfarad is 1 millionth of a farad, which states the charge storage capacity of the capacitor.

    How much current?
If it's significantly more than the spec sheet value, then I suspect the gate-source voltage is not really zero.

The cost of those items is quite low, so I don't see how that makes it "expensive"?

If you don't have that voltage available then you can easily generate it from the higher MOSFET voltage using a resistor and a 15V zener along with a filter cap.
The circuit only requires 100uA at...

One way is to simulate the noise of the model and see how it compares to the specs from the device data sheet.

Gate curreent is always very low and independent of drain voltage, since the gate looks like a capacitor.

What is the perceived problem you have?

You don't need a negative voltage for an analog switch, such as a CD4066, unless you are switching a negative voltage.

To generate that pulse train four times for each button press would require two multivibrators and a 2-bit counter.
