    8 bit micro is suitable for many works but I saw microchip website, there is not any 8 bit micro with 64 pin so if you want 64 pin micro you should use 16 bit or dspic.

    if your work is not complicated you can do that with any microcontroller. but you choose 64 pin micro with 18 digital io. maybe that's why microchip suggest you dspic.

    you should use one %. because % is for formatting and every time that compiler see %,it looks for formatting option, for example d or f. and if you want to print % character, you should use %%.

    if you use 2 % in printf in output you have %d. so your output is %d. but if use printf("%d",i) output is 144 decimal of 90 hex.

    you should define initial parameters for ac source such as amplitude and frequency. right click on that and define parameters.
