    Closed: Re: Simulation Buck Converter

a good idea to leave the diode as it is - keep things simple initially, it is fairly obvious the 1mH choke is part of the buck ckt.
  2. Closed: Re: can triacs rapidly switch AC into a transformer

your approach is a little bit simplistic - you will need snubbers across the mosfet switch, and source referenced gate drive, you will get maximum power near the mains peaks ( 325Vpk for 230Vac...
  3. Closed: Re: can triacs rapidly switch AC into a transformer

forced commutation was used to turn off SCR's ( mainly ) and triacs - however a lot of extra circuitry is required - then along came mosfets & IGBT's so much easier to chop the mains or...

you can't turn an SCR off once fired - so your ckt needs a xtor or mosfet - which you can turn off

the SCR will stay on forever once triggered ...

  7. [SOLVED]Closed: Re: Iron sheet laminated gapped core inductor variation

Barkhausen noise would not rise to the level needed to seriously interfere with measurement at 50mV, the main issue with 50mV measurement is the likely level of environmental noise, and the...
  8. Closed: Re: Does it exist an AC to AC converter in small package for converting 220v to 110v?

the word AND in the above quote makes the sentence incorrect, you can have the first 65 degC or the last in an half cycle - but not both - for 110Vac rms from 230Vrms ...

  10. [SOLVED]Closed: Re: Iron sheet laminated gapped core inductor variation

there is no evidence to support this - I have never observed this - it also goes against the principles of physics relating to magnetic materials.
  11. Closed: Re: Does it exist an AC to AC converter in small package for converting 220v to 110v?

Conduction angle is in fact about 65 degrees i.e. the first, or last 65 degrees of each half cycle, if you want 110V rms from 230Vrms

  19. Closed: Re: Half-bridge versus Full-bridge for Power Dense supplies?

you can't easily have current mode control with HB - so if you are seeking a tight dynamic loop - FB may be the better option.

tight looping of cable will no doubt affect the accuracy - if you can have large diameter looping, say 300mm then such effects will be minimised
