  1. Closed: Re: Locking an MCU due to wrong fuses, fow to fix?

    Hi,

Yes, use no Xtal, but an oscillator.

Frequency: if I remember right, then it should with 1MHz and higher.
It will work with lower frequencies, but then you may need to slow down ISP clock...

    Hi,

I never did a multiplier design.
    But a 16 bit signed multiply is rather: 1_bit_sign + 15_bit_value.
    Thus signed x signed = 1_bit_sign x 1_bit_sign = 1_bit_sign and 15_bit_value x...

    Hi,

    --> You need different algorithms.

    A unsigned 32 x 32 bit multiplication causes a 64 bits wide result
A signed 32 x signed 32 bit multiplication causes a 63 bits result. If you store it...

  5. Closed: Re: Power supplies combination to produce +15Vdc and -15Vdc ???

    Hi,

    No.

But in detail it depends on the load circuit.
If inside the load the +15V in is only referenced to GND and the -15V in is only referenced to GND (no circuitry between +15V and -15V)...
  6. [SOLVED]Closed: Re: Signal Ground attached to my DC bias ground?

    Hi,

Even if your power supply is ideal, then the wiring causes stray inductance. This is what you need to take care of.

In my PCM designs: When the wiring/traces are longer than 1.5cm I put an...
  7. Closed: Re: Power supplies combination to produce +15Vdc and -15Vdc ???

    Hi,

an isolated power supply is like a battery.

Connect two batteries in series... then you have 3 nodes. Which one you name "GND" is up to you. GND usually is the reference for voltage...

    Hi,

there is not a single power supply decoupling capacitor!

    Hi,

Use a standard input for the SW.

Poll the SW with with a frequency higher than 20Hz (50ms).

  13. Closed: Re: How to read incremental rotary (quadrature) encoder?

    Hi,

It depends what you want to do with it.
Brians solution is good for input devices like the ALPS EC11 encoders.

But if you want to do position control it suffers from loss of position...
  14. Closed: Re: PCB Layout design to reduce unwanted magnetic coupling

    Hi,

The loop acts like a loop antenna. The bigger the enclosed area the "better" the antenna .... the worse EMI and EMC, because the lower cutoff frequency (HP) becomes lower.

  15. [SOLVED]Closed: Re: Signal Ground attached to my DC bias ground?

    Hi,

Now we see "copper area" or"copper fill", but no true GND-plane
Whether this is suitable or not depends on the whole PCB and it's circuit and the current flow...it can't be verified with that...

    Hi,

    I agree with barry.
All your thoughts are almost useless when you don't have true ground planes.
