What is the practical maximum range for ZigBee?

zigbee specification romanian

I would like to know what is the practical maximum range for ZigBee.

I have a project that i need to connect points of up to 500m!!! I was thinking of i can use a mesh network. Any ideas?

i want to use Zigbee, and not WiFi, because its cheape!!

ZigBee specification is a combination of HomeRF Lite and the 802.15.4 specification.The specification supports data transmission rates of up to 250 Kbps at a range of up to 30 meters.


ZigBee/IEEE 802.15.4-Range: 50m typical (5-500m based on environment)

go to vvv.maxstream.net and they have different products with different ranges
