INTELLIGENT REMOTE METERING SYSTEM USING GSM

The remote monitoring system is a effective method to obtain, analyze, transmit, manage and feedback the remote goal information, and it combines the Most advanced science and technology field of satellite positioning technology, communication technology, Internet technology and other areas, and it is the comprehensive usage of instrumentation, electronic technology, modern communications technology, computer software and so on. GSM is a digital mobile communication network which develops rapidly in recent years. Short Message Service of GSM is a value-added service based on data packet switching provided by mobile communication company using GSM network besides of all sorts of telecommunication services and bearer services based on the circuit-switched.
In this paper, a technique for remotely reading electricity meter readings using Short Message Service (SMS) has been illustrated. Existing Global System for Mobile communications (GSM) networks have been used for sending and receiving SMS. A prototype of the system has been designed and developed for system exploration and experiment.
Existing System:
In this existing system, it needs a manual power to monitor and measure the meter reading in the power meter. And also if any unauthorized person tries to open the meter box and change the reading. So it is very difficult to detect those types of situation in the industries.

Proposed System:
In this system we are able to monitor and measure the meter reading from the remote place. Here we are using GSM modem, EEPROM, LCD which are all interfaced with the microcontroller. The Load is connected with the power supply using Energy meter, the meter measures the values from the IR receiver and then the values are transferred to the EEPROM to store temporary value. After receiving the request message, the values are transferred to the authorized person via GSM modem.
Hardware used:
• 8051 Microcontroller.
• GSM modem.
• EEPROM.
• LCD.
• Energy Meter.
Software used:
• Keil Complier.
• Embedded C.
Advantages:
• It will reduce the time to measure the meter reading.
• If any problem occurs in the meter it sends the message to the authorized person.

 GPS BASED TAXI MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

 The Embedded Technology is now in its prime and the wealth of knowledge available is mind-blowing. Embedded technology plays a major role in integrating the various functions associated with it. This needs to tie up the various sources of the department in a closed loop system. This proposal greatly reduces the manpower, saves time and operates efficiently without human interference. This project puts forth the first step in achieving the desired target. With the advent in technology, the existing systems are developed to have in built intelligence.

 Existing system:
 Now a days we using a walky talky to disussing a way in real time to maintain a database to where its go and easy to identifing the place with simple and low cost manner. We overtake this application in this method.

 In this proposed system we disuss about the GPS based taxi management system using microcontroller and GPS receiver. In gps receive the value from the satelite and is connected to the microcontroller and get the approximate value from the vehicle present. And display the GPS location in PC also. Easy to identify the user and avoid the error correction in road. And selected a shortest road to identify for the drivers to reach the distination be simple.
Hardware requirements:
1. AT89C51 Microcontroller
2. Level converter
3. GPS Modem

Software used:
1. Keil Compiler
2. Embedded C
3. VEHICLE THEFT ALERT AND AVOIDANCE SYSTEM USING GSM
4.
5. A strong vehicle oriented culture, a high proportion of older vehicles that have little or no security features, the ease with which vehicle components can be absorbed by an extensive black market, gaps in our national exchange of vehicle information and some major misconceptions concerning the scale and nature of vehicle theft within our motoring population. In short, vehicles are culturally highly desirable, particularly with our youth, they offer high financial returns with very little risk to professional thieves, in the main they are easy to steal, and the average motorist has very little knowledge of what it is all about. To avoid this kind of steal we are going to implement a system it provides more security to the vehicle. The vehicle movement is control by its owner.
6. Existing System:
7. In the previous system security lock and alarm is implemented in a car. If a burglar can break open the lock, then it becomes easy for the burglar to steal the car. And in old security system if the car is stolen then it is out of the owner control. This technology is having lots of drawback.
8. Proposed System:
9. The RF transmitter is attached with the vehicle which has its own identification. This data will be continuously transmitted to the RF receiver connected to the microcontroller. Suppose the RF receiver not receiving signal from the transmitting unit, receiver unit send the signal to the microcontroller, from that we can identify the theft. If the vehicle is theft it automatically sends the SMS through GSM modem. This will be a much simpler and low cost technique compared to others. If a password like SMS is sent by the owner, it automatically stops the vehicle.
Hardware Requirements:

1) 8051 MCU.
2) Motor Drivers
3) GSM Module.
4) HT12D, HT12E.
5) RF Module

Software Requirements:

1) Keil C compiler.
2) Embedded C.

Advantage:
• It provides more security.
• By using RF cost also became low.
• From the remote place we can access this system.

Disadvantage:
• GSM is always depend on some other constrain like signal.
• The person who forget the number they cannot access this system.
• RF covers only low distance.
• ROADS DIGITAL MAP GENERATION WITH MULTI-TRACK GPS DATA

• With the increase in traffic worldwide, especially in large urban areas, ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) has been widely used to improve traffic condition and reduce accidents in recent years. As an important infrastructure and information source, roads digital map plays quite a crucial role in many applications. Thus, generating high accuracy roads digital map has become an active research area. In order to generate roads digital map of unknown area when the raster map is absent, we proposed a way which employs multi-track GPS (Global Position System) data. Despite inaccuracy of GPS system itself, multi-track data can reduce errors when we assume a symmetric distribution of the error values. Morphological operations to binary image are employed to process the GPS data

• Existing System:
• At present, most of the digital maps are obtained after some operations to remote sensing imagery or to paper maps. On one hand, errors could be produced during the operations. On the other hand, for some areas, remote sensing images and paper maps are both absent. Therefore, some scholars proposed to generate roads maps using GPS (Global Position System) data.

• Proposed System:
• In our proposed system we are going to have a GPS modem, a microcontroller and a PC interfaced in the vehicle. We are going to generate a digital map the roads through which we are going to travel. The GPS modem will generate the latitude and longitude of the current location. The data is transferred to the microcontroller via RS232 and the data in turn is going to give the data to the PC which is going to generate the digital map.
Hardware Requirements:
• 8051 microcontroller unit
• GPS modem
• PC with VB
Software Requirements:
• Visual Basics
• Keil C Compiler
Advantage:
• It provides more reliability.
• GPS give the exact location.
• VEHICLE ACCIDENT INTIMATION AND LOCATION FINDER USING GSM AND GPS
• A strong vehicle oriented culture, a high proportion of older vehicles that have little or no security features, the ease with which vehicle components can be absorbed by an extensive black market, gaps in our national exchange of vehicle information and some major misconceptions concerning the scale and nature of vehicle theft within our motoring population. In short, vehicles are culturally highly desirable, the normal inference is that the cause is operator error; the dominant cause of single-vehicle accidents is excessive speed and alcohol. Some roads are particularly notorious for these crashes, leading to them being termed "dangerous roads". In the accidental place they need medical help as soon as possible. To avoid this kind delay in medical service we are going to implement a system which helps in providing medical assistant for the needy.
• Existing System:
• Currently there is no system available to intimate accidents occurring in highways. Due this there are possibilities of threats like loss of life due to a small reason i.e., no proper medical attention within the golden hour. Hence we are proposing a new technique to intimate the accidents to the control room of medical center as early as possible and location also.
• Proposed System:
• The GSM and GPS modem is attached with the MCU via RS232 interface. Vibration sensor is connected to the microcontroller using a comparator. Whenever there occurs an accident, the vibration sensor picks up the signal and transfers it to the microcontroller. MCU will automatically send a SMS to the Emergency number and also its owner number with the location (latitude and longitude value from the satellite). This will be a much simpler and low cost technique compared to others, thus saving lots of human life.
Hardware Requirements:
6) 8051 MCU.
7) Motor Drivers.
8) GSM Module.
9) GPS Module
Software Requirements:
3) Keil C compiler.
4) Embedded C.
Advantage:
• It provides more flexibility.
• By using GSM cost became low.
