lead acid battery fast charger

Hi,

We're in the middle of fall and winter is comming soon so need a car battery (lead acid or wet) to fast charge my car's battery. It's not a matter to change the battery with a new one the matter is that my car is alcool powered (not gasoline) and this fuel is very hard to start in the cold morning so a 15A or 20A (13,8V 25C degree to 14,4V 10C degree)will be in a good shape for this purpose.

Thank you,

Fernando - Call sign PU2PLL

In some parts of the world they have resistive heaters bolted to the engine. The heater is powered from the mains. This keeps the temperature up on the engine so it will start easier in cold weather.

The best way to produce high current for Battery charging is to use a transformer ( possibly a tapped secondry)and bridge rectifier. Well chosen secondry voltage to fast charge your battery while monitering your battery terminal voltage while listening to the battery incase it starts to gas (to much).
