Hi there,

In RF system design, what should I use, Ansoft or Simulink?

In this forum, I saw a lot of members is using Simulink,
Is there anybody using Ansoft?

Thanks,

tdf.

Dear all,

For the long time, and I no reply.

In my opinion, I guess the Agilent's tools the best one for the RF design at system level. However, Cadence 6 also is a optional consideration.

Thx,

RF system design is a wide area, I am not sure what would you like to do.

Bear in mind the price, Ansoft is about 5 times more expensive than Simulink.
However, if you are a student, you can make simple models using student version of Ansoft Designer, or get
evaluation version of Matlab.
I can't comment on Agilent and Cadence, as I have never used their tools.

Agilent ADS can simulate transient response, phase noise, osc, non-linear power amp, etc.
AWR performs better on microstrip design, it's more simple than ADS and HFSS, on 2D.
HFSS is good on 3D structure, and on waveguide etc.
Which is better is by your requirements.
