Hi,
I am using mandriva linux and also i am using the development board with PIC16F917 as the PIC IC. The problem i am facing is that the PICC lite compiler that i have downloaded compiles only to the maximum of PIC16F8X series. I am in need of PICC lite compiler for PIC16F917.. Please help me in this...

Have you tried the **broken link removed**? According to the literature "The HI-TECH C Compiler for PIC10/12/16 MCUs is a free-standing, optimizing ANSI C compiler. It supports all PIC10, PIC12 and PIC16 series devices, as well as the PIC14000 device and the enhanced Mid-Range PIC® MCU architecture."

The problem is that i have tried the HiTech C compiler.... And the compiler now i am using is not supporting for the series PIC16F917... It supports all the earlier versions of the PIC series....

Sound like you have an older version of the Hi-Tech Compiler. Download the latest version from the link below:

**broken link removed**

I can assure you it's supports the 16F917. It is in fact the same installation as the PRO and STD version. However, if you don't a license it runs in "Lite Mode". The major differences being code optimization and technical support, there is none.

Hope the link helps.

K... Thank you sir.... i have just downloaded and installed the s/w in the linux.
