hi ... i have zigbee pro series2 ..
i want to send and receive data with pic in at command mode because is easier than api mode..! but i dont know configuration in this mode???
plz help ?
thanks

if you look at XBee Series 2 OEM modules manual
**broken link removed**
section 2.2.4. 'To Enter AT Command Mode:Send the 3-character command sequence “+++” and observe guard times before and after the command characters. '
Once you are in AT Command mode you send a sequence of AT commands.
In practice I used API mode as I found that far more powerful and flexible (although more complex)

Hello,

If you just want to configure your module you can use X-CTU. You can download it from this address. I used this software for my project, very easy to use.

thanx every one ...
dear horace1 ... i read that manual before that but it didnt work ... can you give a sample?? ... for example send a characters "amin" for another module ...!
kaleborg your suggest software it's only for communication between pc or we can use that for microcontroller ???

It is a couple of years since I used the XBee modules and I don't know where they are at the moment.
I remember experimenting with transparent mode, as you send it characters they are transmitted to the receiver. Typing +++ (has too be fast within 1 second) switches it into AT command mode, e.g. AT+ID should gave you the PAN ID.
I will see if I can find the XBee modules next time I am in the office.

i send +++ characters for zigbee and receive "ok" from zigbee ..! after that
should to exit At command mode by "ATCN" or send Destination addres to zigbee ?
i dont know to do!!!!
can you give me more information about X-CTU ?

No, the idea of that program is that you can connect your module to PC and configure it using this software. Set baud rate, addresses etc. and the connect the module to microcontroller to USART. It saves you the proglem of configuring it with AT commands.

Here is an example.

Regards

i dont have time for test it but you means i should connect zigbee to pc and config that and after that connect zigbee to microcontroller and use that ? and should not send or recieve configuration data between zigbee and microcontroller ???

Post your settings, so that someone could find out the problem

i use X-CTU software for config zigbees ... first i write zigbees destination address to eachother ... and after that i use one of them on "coordinatoor" modem and the other one on "router/end deivce" ...! when config finished ... i send and receive data from zigbee with microcontroller without any command ... before that i use two of zigbee on "router/end device" and that's not worked ...! just that

Im happy to see your response.

Most of them go away as their work is done.

Good luck
