I am trying to do this project where I am have to find a way creating a sms activated light switch. I am planning to use a microcontroller of some sort and some two cellphones. I am however not experienced with microcontrollers. I might also need some ideas on how to set up the circuit. If you have any ideas please help me out as soon as you can.

You need cellphones that support fbus protocol.

If you are a beginner in the microcontroller, better get familiar with micros first and then get started

yes.. first try out ur hands at some basic microcontroller projects.. you'll find plenty of the links thru google..
