I m using gps lr9122 with pic 18f452 but i can not see any data transfer
(not on PC neither on scope) :(

Is there any starting configuration of this gps module

My connections are:--

1) My Antenna is connected to the 5V power supply (PIN 1)
2) GPS is being provided with 5V power supply (PIN 2)
3) GND provided (PIN 18)
4) GPS TX output (PIN 11) is connected to the RX pin of the PIC18F452 microcontroller

My connection configurations are:-

1) Baud rate : - 4800
2) Start bits : - 1
3) Data bits :- 8
4) Parity bits :- None
5) Stop Bits :- 1

plz help me .....

I took a quick look at the datasheet, and here are some things you might want to double check.

1) Is pin 5 (system reset) left floating?
2) Where is the 5v for the GPS module coming from? It needs 35ma, so you don't want to power it off of a PIC pin.
3) Are you certain that this is a 5v module and not a 3.3v module?

1) I have left pin 5 floating
2) I m giving 5v from power supply..
3) I think this can operate on both voltage level ...
because data sheet says tht it can operate on both voltages +3.3VDC ~ +5.0VDC Power Input
ftp://ftp.leadtek.com.tw/gps/9122/9122_v0.5_052807.pdf

i hav also chkd the module by simply connecting 3.3v at pin 4
but still i dnt get any data at output (pin 11)
do u really think it would start giving data at output as i power up ....
is there is any start up configuration ??
