viedo recod in matlab

hai can anyone help to record video from a camera into an video file in matlab..i want it for my video capturing robot. and i want to save it in some location for previewing latter
 

You can call other executables from matlab so just build your video recording application in the language of your choice and when you want to start recording, call that application from Matlab and save the result in your Matlab working directory.
 
so can i record video directly in matlab and save it as a avi file.is there a way for that.
