i want to interface 8x8 keypad with 89s52. i want to minimize the port usage and want to use some sort of key-decoder IC and genarate an interrupt to get the sensed(pressed) key.

i am not able to get an ic(key decoder/controller) which would do this for me!

can anybody suggest something on this?
Ultimate aim is to generate an interrupt and hence minimize the port usage. Any other idea?

Didn't you check out your requirement in google?

Jerin.

Try this 3 pins (I2C+INT) interface for 64 keys: **broken link removed** **broken link removed** or **broken link removed**
